A Special Invitation

A missionary message from Pres Russell

Lori Garcia, Stake Communications Director (Hodge Park Ward)

President Russell during his time serving in the Argentina Neuquen Mission when he was 19 years old.

In the recent Liberty Missouri Stake Conference for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, President Matthew Russell spoke about missionary work. He showed photos from his mission (Argentina Neuquen Mission) at the age of 19 and the impact it made on his life and those he served.

The focus of the conference was about inviting others to come unto Christ, whether you’re serving a full-time mission or not. We can all find ways to invite others to “come and see.”

Special cards were passed out to invite others to a special “invitation” Sunday, June 14, 2026 with a link showing locations and times to come worship with us in the Liberty area.

President Russell's Invitations

During his talk, President Russell invited members to play a more active role in missionary work.

Have a family home evening or home centered gospel instruction about missionary work and make goals as a family

Those that have served missions, find a missionary journal, email or other written experience and share it with your family and others

Commit to pray everyday for missionary opportunities with a commitment to act

Give a perfect stranger a pass along card

Prepare to serve a mission, service mission, senior missionary service

Help our youth prepare for missionary service
(Learn the names of all the youth in your ward)

Teach your children/share with others the story of when your first puzzle pieces were placed
(Your first pieces in the gospel puzzle, whether they be the first members of the Church in your family or your conversion.)

Did you know?
Members who help invite their friends to learn more about the gospel of Jesus Christ have exponentially more success than missionaries just talking to people on the street?
