A reception was held in honor of Elder Jeremiah J. Morgan and his wife Rebecca (Hodge Park Ward) on Sunday, April 20, 2026 at the stake center across from the Missouri Kansas City Temple. The open house was held to wish them well as the couple moves to Salt Lake City, Utah, for his new role as general authority seventy. Around 250 people showed up for the event, with Elder Morgan’s first bishop Siale Vaka from Independence, Missouri, also in attendance. Bishop Vaka said he knew Elder Morgan was special from the beginning.

“I had a feeling when I sent him on a mission that he would climb into leadership in the Church,” Bishop Vaka said. “I feel so humble [to have been his bishop]. It’s so special to me.”
