Tabernacle Choir Watch Party

Church to sponsor Watch Party on June 26, 2026 in Kansas City; broadcast featuring the Tabernacle Choir & live, local musicians, free BBQ

Lori Garcia, Stake Communications Director (Hodge Park Ward)

Kansas City has been chosen as one of only a few locations around the world to hold a Tabernacle Choir Watch Party on Friday, June 26, 2026 from 5:00-9:00 pm at the Community of Christ Auditorium in Independence, MO.

The free event, sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will feature a broadcast of the Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square’s “Songs of Hope” world tour from the Hollywood Bowl in California earlier in the week. The performance at the Hollywood Bowl is a major milestone for the Choir, marking the 100th anniversary of their first appearance at the venue in 1926.

Along with the broadcast, the watch party in Kansas City will include live music from local musicians and choirs, free BBQ for the first 1,000 attendees, and games in a party-style atmosphere.

Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from all around the Greater Kansas City area are invited to the party and are encouraged to bring a friend not of our faith to attend as well.

The summer-casual event is open to the whole family and free of charge. More information is coming soon.

Liberty Missouri Stake members Brian and Kim Hancock (Hodge Park Ward) are organizing the watch party.

More information about the Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square’s “Songs of Hope” world tour from the Hollywood Bowl:

  • The Matching Gift: To amplify the impact, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is matching the ticket sales, effectively doubling the total donation. (Note, the Watch Party is free of charge)

  • The Program: Titled “Songs of Hope,” the evening is designed to be a high-energy, inspirational experience featuring the full 360-member choir and 65-piece orchestra.
