Making Connections Matter
GenealogyKC August, 15, 2026
Lori Garcia, Stake Communications Director (Hodge Park Ward)
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the greater Kansas City area will once again host GenealogyKC–a genealogy conference–on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the Liberty Missouri Stake Center. The conference will feature speakers, workshops and hands-on opportunities.
This year’s theme is Making Connections Matter. According to the website: “We’re focusing on making connections matter in our past, present, and future! Finding names, dates, and information on our ancestors is fun and exciting! But how can we use that information to help those in our present and future? Let’s make our connections be more than information and make it last through the generations.”
“Uncover your roots, explore family trees, and connect with your heritage,” as found on the conference’s website. “Every year we gather as the largest free genealogy conference in the mid-west to learn, discover, grow, and connect. Join us!”
The website also shares: “The conference provides diverse sessions on DNA analysis, historical document interpretation, and ancestral homeland research to equip you with tools to uncover elusive family secrets. “
