Doniphan Ward young women throw carnival for camp fundraiser
Rosemary Laufer, Stake Historian (Shoal Creek Valley Ward)
Saturday, February 28, 2026, was a night to remember for the Doniphan Ward thanks to the clever and hard-working young women and their leaders who staged a carnival to raise funds to help with camp expenses this year. The event kicked off with a pancake breakfast and included a raffle of various baskets (toothcare items provided by a dentist in the congregation, movie-night essentials, spa necessities, candy, etc.), game booths, face-painting, and—most popular of all—pie-throwing at members of the bishopric. Two ward members purchased 100 tickets to pass out to everyone attending to guarantee the success of this activity! Although the “pies” were mini-tins filled only with whipped cream, you can imagine the mayhem. There was also a silent auction for all kinds of donated items and services. Jon Tolman, husband of young women’s president Becky Tolman, acted as emcee in announcing raffle and auction winners.
